The US Suggests Military Response to Saudi Attacks As Oil Prices Rise
Oil prices made their biggest hope since the Gulf War on Monday after President Donald Trump warned that the United States was “locked and charged” for responding to attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure that Washington blamed on Iran. But a strike for Iranian oil fields is “very unlikely,” said Middle East expert James Dorsey. “The Saudis do not want an open conflict with Iran. Saudis want others to fight that war, and the others are reluctant,” said Dorsey, a senior research fellow at RSIS.
