The Caspian Sea as Battleground
Dr James M. Dorsey, Senior Fellow at RSIS, wrote an opinion piece on the Second Karabakh War. “Populated at the time by fluent Hebrew speakers, the Israel desk of Armenia’s foreign ministry waited back in 1991 — in the immediate wake of the collapse of the Soviet Union — for a phone call that never came,” said Dr Dorsey. “The ministry was convinced that Israel, with whom Armenia shared an experience of genocide, were natural allies. The ministry waited in vain. Israel never made the call,” he added.
…Dr James M. Dorsey is Senior Fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies of Nanyang Technological University, Senior Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore’s Middle East Institute, and Co-director of the University of Würzburg’s Institute of Fan Culture in Germany.
