- Facing a Pandemic of Crises, Few Middle Eastern Leaders Step Up
A second wave of the coronavirus pandemic is putting Middle Eastern leaders at a crossroads as they struggle to contain the disease and tackle its economic fallout. Addressing those predicaments requires regional and global leadership that looks beyond immediate survival and ideological and geopolitical rivalries, wrote RSIS Senior Fellow James Dorsey in a commentary. The problem is that few leaders seem willing or able to step up to the plate, he added.
…Dr. James M. Dorsey, a non-resident senior associate at the BESA Center, is a senior fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University and co-director of the University of Würzburg’s Institute for Fan Culture.
