Singapore Appoints Ambassadors to South Korea, Iran

SINGAPORE: The Government on Wednesday (Jan 28) announced it appointed Mr Yip Wei Kiat and Mr Ong Keng Yong as the country’s ambassadors to the Republic of Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran, respectively.

…As for Mr Ong, he was appointed Non-Resident Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran. He is currently Ambassador-at-Large in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Executive Deputy Chairman of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies and Director of the School’s Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies.

Mr Ong is also Singapore’s Non-Resident High Commissioner to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the press release stated.
