Pyongyang Pulls Out All Stops for Moon Amid Hopes of Breakthrough
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un turned up at Pyongyang’s main airport personally to welcome South Korean President Moon Jae-in on their third inter-Korea summit this year. Analysts said North Korea rolled out the red carpet in the hope of him mediating a breakthrough in stalled denuclearisation talks with the US. The enthusiastic welcome for Mr Moon will also help to maintain the positive momentum from months of good inter-Korea ties, said Mr Shawn Ho, associate research fellow at RSIS.
