“Absent Dialogue” in India Civil-Military Relations

Anit Mukherjee, Deputy Head of Graduate Studies, Associate Professor in the South Asia Programme at RSIS, and author of an acclaimed new book on civil – military relations in India called ‘Absent Dialogue’ has welcomed the government announcement on CDS or Chief of Defence Staff. But speaking to Barkha Dutt on #BehasWithBarkha, Mukherjee says there are too many unanswered questions around what the newly formed Department of Military Affairs will do and where that will leave existing structures.
