Muhammad Faizal Abdul Rahman, a cyber and homeland defence Research Fellow with RSIS, wrote a commentary discussing the importance of why data, including those from TraceTogether, is vital in policing and keeping Singapore safe. After the parliamentary answer by Mr Desmond Tan, Minister of State for Home Affairs, that the police may use TraceTogether data for criminal investigations under the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC), there have been some concerns about data privacy. Rahman notes that there is no perfect solution that will please everyone.
