The healthcare industry has been a target for data breaches for years due to what is seen as weak security. Benjamin Ang, Senior Fellow at RSIS’ Centre of Excellence for National Security said, “Not many people know this but medical data is actually worth more than credit card data on the dark web.” He also said that in general, people should not stop using technology and leverage on updated and more secure technologies instead of going back to the pen and paper method which will not work as efficiently.
