Abstract: Inter-religious dialogue and understanding, not least across cultures, is an increasingly necessary feature of today’s globalised world. The lecturer will discuss the rise and importance of inter-religious dialogue in a globalised context, the problematics of such dialogue such as the issues of transacting and translating concepts across cultural and linguistic boundaries, and the goals and gains that such exchanges might be expected to yield. Some of these gains could be relevant for other contexts of human interaction, such as the political. The lecture will be followed by a discussion with questions and answers.”
