The Studies in Inter-Religious Relations in Plural Societies (SRP) Programme of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) is organising an Executive Programme on the theme “Religion, Conflict & Peace-building”.
The Executive Programme will provide knowledge on the crucial role of religion in various facets of life in plural societies and in relation to communal conflicts and the strengthening of social cohesion. The themes to be covered in the 5 days are:
- Contemporary Trends in the Global Religious Landscape;
- Understanding Religion & Religious Encounters: Contestations and Concepts;
- Religions as Conflictual and Resources for Peace; and
- Tools for Dialogue and Peace-building
The Executive Programme will be conducted by an international mix of academics and practitioners including Prof Abdullah Saeed (Advisor to SRP and Peter Lim Professor of Peace Studies RSIS) and Prof Julius Lipner (Professor Emeritus of Hinduism and Comparative Religion from the University of Cambridge).
The fee for participation is $500 per person. More details of the SRP Executive Programme, which will be held at a venue in the city area, are in the enclosed brochure and programme schedule.
