    The S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), a Graduate School of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is a leading research-intensive and teaching institution in strategic and international affairs and policy-oriented think-tank in the Asia Pacific region.

    We invite suitably qualified applicants to join us for the following positions:-


    Assistant or Associate Professor in International Political Economy (Tenure-Track/Tenured)

    The successful candidate will join the school’s Centre for Multilateralism Studies and International Political Economy Programme. He/she is expected to contribute to and play an active role in teaching, research, and think-tank workstream. The teaching load is up to three courses per academic year

    Assistant or Associate Professor in Strategic Studies / International Relations (Tenure-Track/Tenured)

    The successful candidates will be expected to be conceptually and empirically grounded in their own areas of specialisations; to demonstrate an active research and publication agenda; to teach, supervise, and examine in either Strategic Studies or International Relations at the graduate level; to contribute to the administrative work of the School; and to provide teaching and pastoral support to students.

    Junior Researcher (National Security Studies Programme)

    The successful applicant is expected to contribute to the research output of the programme which includes policy papers, outreach programmes and executive education. The candidate should have suitable academic or relevant work experience in the field of national security policy and strategy. He / She will also be required to carry out some administrative work.

    Research Analyst / Senior Analyst (Malaysia Programme)

    Applicants should have knowledge and experience in researching on Malaysia, in particular, its defence and security policies.  They should be able to write in concise and grammatical English, and instinctively take an open and analytical approach to public policy and politics. Equally, they should be conscientious and effective managers of time and budget.  They should be self-motivated and happy to work independently on their own but also harmoniously in a team as needed.

    Research Analyst / Senior Analyst / Associate Research Fellow (Military Transformations Programme)

    The successful applicant should have a research focus on key issues, trends, and developments in military-tech governance and responsible innovation of emerging technologies in defence.  Research problems in this area may include mapping norm development trajectories, mechanisms, and dialogues on responsible innovation in defence, including in areas such as artificial intelligence, autonomous weapons systems, and contested domains such as space, underwater, and cyber. Moreover, projecting how select countries, militaries, tech-companies, and international organisations are implementing and operationalizing responsible defence innovation and why.

    Events Executive (RSIS)

    The successful candidate will report to the Head of Events and assume the following responsibilities:

    • Provide administrative support for RSIS’ Events Unit;
    • Assume the role of Event Lead for events;
    • Assist the Event Supervisor to organise and manage events with responsibilities for all administrative and logistical tasks including, where necessary, liaison with speakers and guests, flight and accommodation arrangements, vendors liaison, budget management, conducting of rehearsals and virtual test calls;
    • Monitor the progress of event planning and execution;
    • Ensure the event administrative and operational requirements are met; and
    • Ensure compliance with RSIS and NTU policies and regulations.

    Senior Events Officer (RSIS)

    The successful candidate will report to the Head of Events and assume the following responsibilities:

    Senior Events Technical Officer / Events Technical Executive (RSIS)

    The successful candidate will report to Head, Events.  He or she will have the following responsibilities:

    1. Provide technical support for virtual events, onsite events, and onsite events with virtual participation, which will include:

    • Setting up and taking down equipment;
    • Being the technical operator for events;
    • Performing post-production, including video production; and
    • Assisting with pre- and post-event e-publicity, etc.

    2. Provide technical and administrative support for the Events Unit, which will include:

    • Website and social media support; and
    • Maintaining and accounting for technical and other equipment, etc.

    3. Ensure compliance with RSIS as well as NTU policies and regulations.
