NADI Workshop on “Evaluating ASEAN Defence and Security Initiatives with Dialogue Partners”

The NADI Workshop on “Evaluating ASEAN Defence and Security Initiatives with Dialogue Partners”, organised by the Malaysian Institute for Defence and Security (MiDAS), was held at the Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel and Residences, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 14 to 17 August 2017. Lieutenant General Dato' Suhaimi bin Mohd Zuki (Chief Executive, MiDAS) chaired the Workshop. Representatives from the NADI institutions of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam attended the Workshop. Participants shared their views on how the ADMM could enhance cooperation with ASEAN’s dialogue partners, particularly in the areas of counter-terrorism, cyber security and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. The Workshop also concurred on the recommendations on these issues, to be made to the ADMM Track for their consideration.
