Bio:

Yolanda Chin is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Excellence for National Security (CENS), S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

She holds a BA in Sociology and European Studies from the National University of Singapore. In 2005, she obtained her MSc in International Relations from Nanyang Technological University and was awarded the Tay Seah Huah Book Prize for her dissertation. Prior to joining RSIS in 2006, she was a secondary school teacher of History, Social Studies and English from 1999-2004. She also taught at the National Institute of Education, Singapore from 2005-2006 on Singapore history and social studies education.

Her research interest is in national security and social cohesion in multicultural societies. She has conducted studies on public attitudes towards inter-racial and inter-religious relations in Singapore. Her current research includes a collaborative project on the comparative attitudes of Southeast Asian Muslims towards politics.
